You can't do NHD without NH

"NHDNH has been a very rewarding experience with the students who participate at states and nationals... having experienced this both as a parent and a teacher... it is hard work. Why do I continue to do this year after year?  The ultimate reason is the kids... I know that I have changed their life in a positive way." -NH Teacher

Registration

Plymouth State has hosted NHDNH since 2003. To compete at States, you must Register through our registration system: ZFAIRS. Registration for the next contest usually opens in February.

Registration Tips:
1. Teachers should register with their students. Don't do this as homework. Students will have questions and it will aid in tips 2-5. Some teachers do registration in class, others do it right after school, or during a study hall.
2. Teachers must register first.
3. Groups should have only one student register to get the "key" then share the key to the rest of the group.
4. All projects should have a title that reads like a mini thesis, NOT "class project" but rather, "Rosa Parks: Standing for Rights and Civic Responsibility."
5. Remove the School/Teacher name from everything.

Be Careful What You Enter!

Project titles should be academic titles. What students enter at registration will be printed EVERYWHERE. It will be on every schedule, their name tags, all of it, so make sure to put the full and proper academic title with capitalization. Here's a good example of a middle school project from 2026: The Titanic: How the "Unsinkable" Ship Reformed Sea Travel.

After Registration:

Students in the Performance, Documentary, and Exhibit categories can keep working until the day of States, but Websites and Papers must upload their "site key" and paper at the time of registration to be sent to judges ahead of States.

After everything with registration is cleaned up we will begin to build the schedule for the day of competition. It often takes a week to clean up registration, but it can take more if there are significant issues. Please be patient with us. We will communicate as soon as possible when we have information to share.

A couple days before States, you will receive an email from the Coordinators with parking information, a full schedule, and other relevant information. Likely parking will be behind Rounds Hall in the faculty lots and busses can drop people off there and then park at the Plymouth State Ice Arena lots.
