Competing at States
Congratulations on qualifying for the State History Day competition. States takes place in April. All updates and details will be shared via email once teachers and students complete registration.
What to Expect & Schedules
Plymouth State has hosted NHDNH since 2003. To compete at States, you must Register through our registration system: ZFAIRS. Registration for the next contest usually opens in February.
Registration Tips:
1. Teachers should register with their students. Don't do this as homework. Students will have questions and it will aid in tips 2-5. Some teachers do registration in class, others do it right after school, or during a study hall.
2. Teachers must register first.
3. Groups should have only one student register to get the "key" then share the key to the rest of the group.
4. All projects should have a title that reads like a mini thesis, NOT "class project" but rather, "Rosa Parks: Standing for Rights and Civic Responsibility."
5. Remove the School/Teacher name from everything.
"NHDNH has been a very rewarding experience with the students who participate at states and nationals... having experienced this both as a parent and a teacher... it is hard work. Why do I continue to do this year after year? The ultimate reason is the kids... I know that I have changed their life in a positive way."
