Consider Choosing Topics that Alight with Special Prizes

Special Topic Awards

At States, students have the opportunity to receive recognition for their work outside of first, second, and third place.  Winners of the awards are selected by a separate panel of anonymous judges.  The following are NH special topic awards:

Outstanding New Hampshire History Award
This award recognizes a student for an outstanding project related to New Hampshire History. It is jointly sponsored by the New Hampshire Historical Association and the Association of state historical societies.

National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) Award
This award recognizes a student for outstanding use of primary sources in their project.

Outstanding Project on Women's History
This award recognizes a student for an outstanding project related to Women's History. It is sponsored by the Remedial Herstory Project

Outstanding Civic History Award
This award recognizes a student for an outstanding project related to an important event in the history of government and is deeply tied to civic values. It is sponsored by New Hampshire Civics.

Let’s Work Together

NHDNH is looking for historical societies and organizations to sponsor special topic awards at states.  These awards can be certificates, scholarships, gift certificates, or something else.  If an organization is interested in sponsoring an award, the organization should  establish generic requirements for the project or student.  Once established, please Contact NHDNH.
