Fiscal Policy

Students will analyze and examine the impact of fiscal policies on the United States, and will create their own fiscal policies and goals in mind to fix economic problems.  Students will participate in a group activity, think-pair-share, and play the Fiscal Ship game, along with a handout to it.

Monetary Policy

Students will examine and question why financial stability is important, why prices matter, how the federal reserve board uses interest rates to adjust prices, and what the consequences of unstable prices are.  Students will discuss, complete written activities, and diagnose economic problems with potential fixes.

Economic Data

Students analyze how current economic data and policies affect the economy.  Students will examine GDP, unemployment rates, inflation rates, and how economic policies can affect them positively and negatively.  Students will participate in discussions, written response question activities, and an essay.
